In 2008, the burden to “Break Barriers and Build Bridges to Better Communities” began in response to the saturation of racially and denominationally segregated churches and shortage of resources in underserved communities. Co-founders Brockne “Brock” and Dominique Jones dreamt of a way to bridge the gap, uniting people to work toward sustainable change in these communities. The vision finally came to fruition in June 2013 when Brock was given an opportunity to share his musical gift with a group of local Korean-American youth. The music transcended cultural and religious barriers, sparking transformation in the hearts of those young people. From this opportunity, the door to international ministry was opened– merging their passions for music, missions, and mentorship.
Since then, TransformUs has gained momentum in DFW and around the world. A team of “transformers” led by this husband and wife team have impacted thousands by providing food, clothes, shelter, disaster relief and more! On December 21, 2015, the TransformUs Movement was incorporated, solidifying the vision to transform communities one person at a time. To make a lasting impact, TransformUs launched a mentorship program for young adults in 2018 to equip the next generation of world changers. A simple burden gave birth to a vision that ignited a global movement-in-the-making.
